AMD has released the HD 7790 video card to fill in the gap between the HD 7850 and HD 7770 models at a price point between $150 and $160, depending on the design. The card is built on a new GCN core that has a few changes over the prior version that can be considered evolutionary. The HD 7790 has 40% more streaming processors than the HD 7770 and should be able to play the latest games at 1080p without breaking the bank. Our roundup includes the OCC review of the non-reference Sapphire with higher clock speeds than the reference design at 1075MHz on the core and 1600MHz on the memory. We also have other reviews on cards from Gigabyte and ASUS for you to check out.
